OAKS CHALLENGE:  MAKE VOWS TO THE LORD

PSALM 116:18

I shall pay my vows to the Lord, Oh may it be in the presence of all His people.

PSALM 76: 11

Make vows to the Lord your God and fulfill them; Let all who are around Him bring gifts to Him who is to be feared.

CHALLENGE FOR YEAR 2 OF OAKS BIBLE CHURCH

August 21 is the one year anniversary of the Oaks Bible Church dedication service.
Our service on Sunday, August 20 will be an anniversary celebration.

To look back, we will remember and celebrate God‘s goodness to us in Year One.

What will we do to look forward?   Here is our challenge to the Oaks family:

MAKE VOWS TO THE LORD, KEEP THEM, AND WATCH HIM WORK!

Roger Davids is making a "VOW BOX" that will be kept at Oaks and displayed throughout our second year.

This box will contain the vows you make and place in the box at our anniversary service, Sunday August 20, or at any time during the year.  These should be vows for which you have prayed, felt God’s prompting and are willing to vow to Him in secret, but be held accountable in community.

The box will never be opened - what you place in the box will never be read.  You will see the box on Sundays and will be reminded of your vow.  The church will pray over the vows in the box regularly and hold you accountable for your vow.

As you fulfill your vow, or God gives you special encouragement along the way in your vow, you can share that praise with your church family and we can all rejoice together.

Some suggested VOWS (make them specific)
Personal - weight loss, project accomplished, time with spouse/children/friends, etc.
Spiritual - reading through the Bible, tithing, giving up a bad habit, sharing the faith, personal devotion time, church involvement, service activity, missions activity, etc.
