I have always tried to hold dominion over all of the events in my life. I Know that you only get one shot, so I didn’t want to waste mine by allowing things to go the wrong way. I tried to control things in a disciplined and thoughtful way so that I would be healthy and happy and not miss any opportunity. For the most part I was successful in my efforts and I accumulated a good job, a healthy body, friends and an active lifestyle full of things that I loved to do. I was satisfied with the way things were going, but God it seems, had other plans for me.

When we try to steer our lives in the direction we think we should go, rarely do we consider that even if our intended destination is a virtuous one, it is only vanity and grasping at the wind. I was headed in, what would be considered by most, a good direction, but everything changed when my path was undeniably and irrevocably altered. A force as unshakeable as gravity but as intangible as the wind made it absolutely clear that I am intended for a specific purpose. Now I have only one acceptable choice, and I am taking it.

Calling:

I have been called to use whatever gift I have received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

  1 Peter 4:10.
